The collection contains reports at the open conference-contest of young scholars held in Khabarovsk on January 21-23, 2004, devoted to discussion of the problems of social and economic development of the Russian Far East. Papers were presented on a wide range of issues related to the economy of individual economic branches, economic development of the territories, including issues concerning regional aspects of branch systems and economic problems of functioning of the cities and individual regions; foreign economic cooperation between countries and separate markets; functioning of the banking system.
The collection can be of interest to researchers, post-graduates and students concerned with development problems of the Russian Far East.
